The thermal transfer processing technique is suitable for transferring onto various flat, grid-shaped, frame-shaped, multi-faceted, oval, cylindrical, and other shaped products. Good transfer quality depends on the following factors:
1. Transfer Temperature
The temperature of thermal transfer is a critical factor affecting transfer quality. Too low a temperature can result in incomplete transfer and unclear patterns, while too high a temperature may damage the substrate or cause pattern blurring. Different types of transfer films have different optimal temperature ranges.
2. Transfer Pressure
Appropriate pressure ensures full contact between the transfer film and the substrate, allowing complete ink transfer. Uneven pressure can lead to partial pattern loss or inconsistent colors.
3. Transfer Time
The transfer time needs to be determined based on temperature, pressure, and substrate characteristics. Too short a time can result in insufficient transfer, while too long a time may cause over-transfer.
4. Substrate Surface Treatment
The substrate surface must be clean, smooth, and free of impurities such as oil stains and dust. Surface pretreatment may be necessary to improve transfer adhesion.
